Lawrence E. Free

Lawrence E. Free, 76, of Erie, died at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Erie, Saturday, January 19, 1980, following an extended illness.

He was born in Cochranton February 8, 1903, son of Harvey and Effie Bell Free.  He married Orpha Snyder.

Free retired in 1968 from the New York Central Railroad and then worked for a number of years at Daub's Security in Erie.

He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps., an avid hunter and a member of the National Rifle Assn.

In addition to his wife, Free is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Reddin (Olive) Terrill and Mrs. Russell (Helen) Smith of Cochranton and Mrs. Allen (Mary) Copeland of Cambridge Springs; three brothers, W. Lester of Atlanta, GA, and Sylvester and Joseph H. of Conneaut Lake; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
