Lawrence R. (Larry) Hock

October 24, 1912 — December 14, 1987

Lawrence R. (Larry) Hock, 75, of Meadville, died Monday, December 14, 1987, at Meadville Medical Center following an illness of six months.

Mr. Hock was born in Meadville, October 24, 1912, a son of Henry Adam and Elizabeth Moffit Hock.  He married Margaret (Peg) Crosley, September 16, 1937.  She survives.

He retired in 1975 after 20 years as a plumbing contractor.  He also worked several years as an insurance representative for Metropolitan Insurance Co. and had worked at the former American Viscose Co.  He was a member of St. Brigid's Roman Catholic Church.  He was a 1930 graduate of the former St. Agatha's High School; a World War II veteran, having served in the US Army in France; a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, Meadville; a past commander of Meadville, Crawford County and District 29 of the American Legion; a member of the Meadville Memorial Day Observation Committee; past president of the former Community Chest; and a former Kiwanis member.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Margaret) Heetman of Sandy Hook, CT; two sons, Lawrence R. Hock, Jr. of Downingtown and James A. Hock of Ticonderoga, NY; one sister, Sister Mary Hock, M.M. of San Diego, CA; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. Brigid Cemetery.
