Lawrence S. (Mac) McCartney, 86, of Meadville, died Thursday, February 22, 2001 at Rolling Fields Nursing Home. He was born March 14, 1914 in Meadville, a son of the late Sylvester Lawrence (Mac) and Adda Mae Burton McCartney. He married Ruth Marley October 29, 1952 and she survives. He was a US Army Veterans of WWII and worked for 38 years at Talon, retiring as a machine set-up operator in 1979. He was a member of Vernon Central Fire Hall and the United Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer. He loved golfing, fishing, bowling and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors, in addition to his wife of 48 years, include a son, Kevin L. McCartney (Kimberly) of Cochranton; four daughters, Karen Stefanacci of Westerville, OH, Linda Pendolino (Vince) of Meadville, Sondra McKinley (William) of Meadville and Donna Wilkes (Richard) of Lawndale, CA; fifteen grandchildren, Bret, Dustin, Aubrey, Ashley, Robin, Keith, Tony, Nick, Denise, David, Ryan, Jon, Lori, Greg and Steven and eleven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melody Barris; two brothers, Donald and Albert and five sisters, Virginia, Peggy, Ollie, Mildred and Evelyn. Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home. Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Services Past Services
