Lawrence Wenko

Lawrence Wenko, 92, of Conneaut Lake, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born June 13, 1929 in Braddock, PA, a son of Fred and Helen Finello.  He married Joan Ann O’Connor July 9, 1955.

Lawrence worked as a policeman for the City of Pittsburgh for 38 years, retiring in 1991.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Joan, include three children, Lawrence Wenko (Margot) of Omaha, NE, Kathleen Aguilar (Henry) of San Antonio, TX, and Christopher Wenko (Kelly) of Conneaut Lake; five grandchildren, Emily Wenko, Megan Wenko, Sara Aguilar, Gabriela Aguilar, and Laryn Wenko; two great-grandsons, Adam and Ryan; three brothers, Fred Finello, John Finello (Lois), and James Finello (Paula), all of Pittsburgh; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lucile Dougherty.

Family and friends will be received Saturday, November 27th from 12-2 p.m. at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE where the funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas officiating.

Interment will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
