Lee Ann Leech, 61, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Meadville Medical Center following a very recent diagnosis of lymphoma, with unexpected complications.
She was born May 16, 1961 in Meadville, a daughter of the late Joseph Paul and Lorinda Marie Rocca Schorting, Jr. She married the love of her life, Michael B. Leech, October 15, 1983, together they shared a wonderful life.
Lee Ann was a 1979 graduate of Maplewood High School, a 1983 graduate of Edinboro University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, a 1997 graduate of Duquesne University with a master’s degree in nursing, and a 2017 graduate of Indiana University of PA with a doctorate in education. Lee Ann was passionate about education both personally and for her students. She instilled nursing excellence into each and every student she taught. She was honored to have former nursing students provide her care during her last two weeks in the hospital.
Lee Ann worked at Meadville Medical Center, Vantage Health, and as an assistant professor of nursing at Edinboro University for 13 years. In retirement she was awarded Emeritus Status. Celebrating retirement, in the spring of 2022, she enjoyed a much anticipated trip to Italy with her daughter Emily.
In her spare time she enjoyed cooking for her family, listening to audio books, and spending time in her beloved home with her dog Pepper. She was a committed member of St. Hippolyte Church.
