Lela J. Bach

Lela J. Bach, 89, of Meadville died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born in Galeton, PA December 24, 1920 a daughter of Herbert and Rhoda Hostrander Fowler.  She married Raymond L. Bach September 5, 1944 and he preceded her in death June 1988.

She was a 1938 graduate of Galeton High School.  She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, Yankee and Pirate baseball and was an avid Meadville Bulldog hockey fan.  She also crocheted baby blankets for family and friends.  She was active at one time in missionary work with her husband and was of the Baptist faith, attending Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors, include: a son, David L. Bach and his wife Mary Lou of Meadville; a daughter, Mary E. Wurschum of Columbus, OH; a sister, Lois Comstock of Montoursville, PA; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Germania Cemetery, Abbott Twp., Potter Co., PA.

The family suggests memorials be made to a mission of the donor's choice.
