Lena Warren Smith

August 5, 1871 — January 1, 1753

Mrs. Lena Warren Smith, wife of George O. Smith, of Meadville, died at City Hospital Tuesday morning following several months' illness.

A daughter of Lewis and Caroline Johnson Warren, she spent her early life in Richmond Township.  She later resided in the Townville area before moving to Meadville.

She and her husband operated a hotel in Townville for four years.  After moving to Meadville in 1929, they operated a diner on Chestnut St. until 1944 when their daughter, Miss Belle D. Smith, assumed the managership.

She was a member of Stone Methodist Church.

Surviving, in addition to her husband are four daughters, Mrs. Gertha M. Wilson of Donna, TX, Mrs. Bessie M. Cross of Parkersburg, WV, and Miss Belle D. Smith and Mrs. Melda A. Van Tassel of Meadville; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A son, Harry, died while she lived in Townville.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Townville.
