Leon P. Burdick, 71, of 21156 Teepleville Flats Road, Cambridge Springs, died at home suddenly Tuesday, November 18, 2003.
He was born in Rockdale Twp., March 13, 1932 a son of Leon and Cecile Thomas Burdick, Sr. He married Nancy Christy December 12, 1952 and she survives.
He was a farmer for 56 years. He was affiliated with the First Church of God and the United Methodist Church both of Cambridge Springs. In December 2002 he and his wife celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: two sons, Leon J. Burdick and his wife Wendy and Doug Burdick and his wife Sue both of Cambridge Springs; three daughters, Marilyn Reynolds and her husband Jim, Karen Martin and her husband Craig and Debbie Ransom and her husband Dennis all of Cambridge Springs and twelve grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville and Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the First Church of God, 634 Venango Ave., Cambridge Springs. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. James Callendar, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Millers Station Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the First Church of God, 634 Venango Ave., Cambridge Springs, PA 16403, United Methodist Church of Cambridge Springs, 116 Lincoln Street, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403 or Wilkins Community Church, 25128 Wilkins Road, Union City, PA 16438.
