Leona C. Gillespie

Mrs. Leona C. Gillespie, 59, of Meadville, wife of Frank G. Gillespie, died at Spencer Hospital on Sunday, May 30, 1971, after an illness of one year.

She was born at Pittsburgh on January 16, 1912, a daughter of G. Willis and Cora Yarlett Smith.  She and Mr. Gillespie were married on September 7, 1940.

Mrs. Gillespie attended Calvary Baptist Church.  She was a member and past president of the Ladies Aux. of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.

Survivors include her husband; a son, F. Regis Gillespie of Meadville; two sisters, Mrs. Max J. (Dorothy) Hotchkiss of Meadville and Mrs. Laurel Johns of Cochranton; a brother, Richard W. Smith of Fort Pierce, FL; two granddaughters, Marcia and Maria Gillespie and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
