Leona S. Cone, of Meadville, formerly of Diamond, widow of LeRoy Cone, died Sunday, October 12, 1986, at Meadville Medical Center following a lingering illness.
Mrs. Cone was born in Erie, a daughter of George and Florence Proper Steadman. She married LeRoy Cone, who preceded her in death.
She owned and operated Leona's Restaurant and Hotel in Diamond. She previously was employed as a telephone operator in Cleveland. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and the church's guild. She attended Western Reserve University, Cleveland. She was a member of Homemakers of Diamond; a Retired Senior Volunteer Program volunteer; and a former member of the Organ Club of Titusville.
Survivors include two sisters, Miss Naomi Steadman of Meadville and Mrs. Julian (Florence) Franklin of Raleigh, NC; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
