Leonard C. Underwood

Leonard C. Underwood, 86, of 19571 Third Street, Meadville died Monday, April 03, 2006 at the Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Meadville June 6, 1919 a son of Louis and Emma Witt Underwood.  He married Kathryn L. Lang April 27, 1944 and she survives.

He worked several different jobs over the years beginning with Harned Gas Station in Conneaut Lake, bus driver for Westridge and Greyhound Bus Co., a mechanic for Wyatt Chevrolet and then Vic Farrah Chevrolet and retired in 1984 from Alltel.

He was a graduate of Conneaut Lake High School.  He was a veteran of World War II as a mechanic with the US Army Air Corps.  He was a member of the AARP and West Mead #1 Vol. Fire Dept. and he was a former member of the Masonic Lodge.  He enjoyed gardening and raising strawberries.

Survivors, in addition to his wife of 61 years, include: a daughter, Carol Underwood of Maryland; a brother-in-law, Neal Lang and his wife Arvilla of Guys Mills and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Underwood.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
