Leroy G. Dunbaugh

January 3, 1903 — September 29, 1989

Leroy G. (Roy) Dunbaugh, 86, of Meadville, died Friday, September 29, 1989, at Meadville Medical Center following a long illness.

Mr. Dunbaugh was born in Swickley, January 3, 1903, a son of Charles C. and Anna Bell McCullough Dunabugh.  He married Mildred Jackson September 6, 1929.  She survives.

He retired in 1968 from Talon, Inc. as foreman of machine repair at the company's plant No. 5.  He subsequently was an inspector for the PA State Public School Building Authority for eight years and then worked for Aetna Machine Co. for five years.  He also had been a civilian special agent for the FBI during World War II.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer.  He had been active in the National Council of Presbyterian Men.

He attended the Univeristy of Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania State University.   He was a member of Stuckrah Masonic Lodge, Pittsburgh; Solomon Royal Chapter, Meadville; Northwestern Commandry, Knights of Templar, Meadville and New Castle Consistory.  He also had been active in the Boy Scouts, and in civil defense work.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Charles R. Dunbaugh of Dickinson, TX and Donald J. Dunbaugh of Meadville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a half sister, May Wright and a half brother, Charles Cress.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
