Leroy Jay Klingensmith

Leroy Jay Klingensmith, 40, of Meadville, died unexpectedly Friday, November 3, 2006.

He was born in Meadville August 22, 1966, a son of Andrew and Edith Abbott Klingensmith.

He worked odd jobs and formerly worked in the fast food industry in Florida.  He was a member of the Meadville Salvation Army and enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, spending time with friends, and playing with his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his mother, Edith Klingensmith of Bradenton, FL; 1 brother, Michael Klingensmith and his wife Malinda of Meadville; 3 sisters, Wendy Oakes, Desiree Chavez and her husband Anthony, and Crystal Tavor and her husband Alfredo, all of Bradenton, FL; a friend, Larry Overton of Meadville; 3 Aunts, Dorothy Abbott of Saegertown; and Faye Schreffler and her husband Eugene and Margie Betts, all of Meadville; 11 nieces and nephews, Christopher Clapper, Ronald Klingensmith, Tony Chavez, Jacob Tovar, Kristin Tovar, Tabitha Mallard and her husband Jim, Taylor Faulds, Bethany Klingensmith, Juanita Tovar, Kayla Oakes, and Jasmine Tovar; and numerous cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. with Captains David and Darlene Means of the Meadville Salvation Army officiating.
