Leslie L. Kiesel

Leslie L. Kiesel, 90, of 10903 Springs Road, Meadville, died Sunday, February 29, 2004, at Crawford Care Center, Saegertown, after a period of declining health.

He was born in Meadville, June 9, 1913, a son of the late Jacob & Mable Haun Kiesel.  He first married Edythe Bartells, and subsequently married Barbara Katulich August 9, 1948, and she preceded him in death December 5, 2003.

He had been employed at FMC Corp. retiring in 1970 as a Temperature Control Technician after 27 years of service.

He loved the out of doors, and his hobbies included hunting, fishing, feeding the wild birds, and nature photography.  He will be remembered as one with a keen sense of humor.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Liz Geist and her husband Jim, and Jeannette Neff all of Meadville, 2 sons, Rick Kiesel of Manassas, VA, and Bob Kiesel of Guys Mills, 1 step-son Ed Ashbaugh and his wife Debbie of Saegertown, 9 grandchildren, Alan, Todd & Jayme Geist, Tracy Albritton, Lisa Luikart, Erin Terry, Brian & Terry Kiesel, and Katrina Galia, 5 step-grandchildren, Shawn, Darin, Jennifer, Scott, & Brian Ashbaugh, 6 great grandchildren, & 5 step-great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by 1 daughter Janet Kiesel, and 1 son Stanley Kiesel, 1 sister, Alfaretta Kiesel, and 2 brothers, Stanley & Harold Kiesel.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc. 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Walton, Associate pastor of Lyona Bible Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery, Meadville.
