Lester L. Lenhart, Sr.

July 8, 1941 — August 11, 2012

Lester L. Lenhart, Sr., 71, of Guys Mills, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Meadville Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was born July 8, 1941 in Egypt, PA, a son of Homer and Velma Luzier Lenhart.  He married Bonnie Smith September 17, 1960 and she survives.

Lester was employed as an over the road truck driver.  He previously worked for the Teamsters Union and in the 1960s he worked for the Crawford and Erie county division of the PA state police.

A member of the North Meadville Church of Christ, Lester enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing, collecting model car replicas and baseball cards, and enjoyed country music.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Bonnie of 51 years, include two sons, Lester L. Lenhart, Jr. and his wife Maria of Meadville and David Lenhart and his wife Regina of Guys Mills; a daughter, Debbie Denman and her husband Dorian of Meadville; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Lenhart and his wife Mona of Clearfield, Arthur Lenhart and his wife Linda of Lancaster, and Russell Lenhart and his wife Von of Ohio; two sisters, Larue Aughenbaugh Curry and her husband Jack of Proctor, AR and Arlean Childs and her husband Norman of Berea, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandchild and eight brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where a memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
