Lewis Miles Davison, 84, died at Meadville City Hospital on Friday following an illness of two weeks.
Mr. Davison, prominent in Oil City civic affairs before he came to Meadville in 1929, leaves his widow, Alfaretta Boal Davison; a daughter, Mrs. Warren P. Norton; a grandson, David W. Norton; one brother, John M. Davison; a sister, Mrs. Wilson S. Davison; two half brothers, Frank W. Davison and Alvin B. Davison; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Celia Hasson and Mrs. Harry B. Brown.
Mr. Davison was born at Wallaceville, Venango County, September 3, 1859. Following his marriage in 1891, he spent 38 years in Oil City, during which time he served as a member of the select council, of the school board and was prominent in various civic activities. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was a charter member of Latonia Lodge No. 1018, IOOF. Following his retirement in 1929 from a position with the Oil City Supply Company, Mr. Davison and his family moved to this city.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Sunville Cemetery.
