A memorial service was held at Phoenix, AZ, on Tuesday for Lewis W. Hunter, 60, former Meadville businessman who died Saturday, March 22, 1958. His death at Phoenix General Hospital was caused by a cerebral hemorrage suffered March 5.
Hunter operated the Chrysler-Plymouth automobile sales agency here from 1941 to 1948, having come here from Sharon where he had been connected with various automobile sales organizations. He was a native of Sharpsville.
He was active in church work and had been associated with Christian Business Men's Committees here and in Sharon. At Phoenix, according to an announcement from the Phoenix Gospel Mission, he was a deacon of Bible Chapel Church, an incorporator of the Arizona Messianic Witness, and one of the founders of the Gospel Mission. He was superintendent of the mission for a year and a half.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Edna Hunter; a daughter, Frances of Phoenix; a son, the Rev. Finley Hunter of Mesa, AZ; three grandchildren; four brothers; and two sisters.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
