Lillian L. Turner Jones, 89, of Glenville, NC passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 16, 1923 in Meadville, a

Lillian L. Turner Jones, 89, of Glenville, NC passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 16, 1923 in Meadville, a daughter of Clarence and Ruth Kiser Turner.  She married Donald R. Jones July 10, 1969.

Lillian was a homemaker and attended the Cashiers Church of God, Cashiers, NC.  She was the recipient of the woman of the year award for the South Carolina District of Wesleyan Women International in 1995.  She was proud of her involvement in assisting with the “Baby Lift”, helping children out of Vietnam in 1973.

Lillian enjoyed writing poetry, art, gardening, and cake decorating.

Survivors, in addition to her loving husband Don of 43 years, include a daughter, Anita Halter and her husband Bradley of Taiwan; a son, Kim Barr and his wife LaDonna of Tacoma, WA; two sisters, Ruth Scott of Meadville and Shirley Turner Cox of Warren, OH; a brother, Ned Turner of Rockledge, FL; grandchildren; step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Albert and Leslie Barr; infant children; and brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where the funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Joe Smith, officiating.

Interment will be in Denny Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
