Linda M. Cushing

Linda M. Cushing, 71 of Stoneboro, passed away on October 31, 2020, at AHN Grove City. Linda was born in Grove City on November 6, 1948 to the late George E. Schell, Sr., and Helen J. (Ringer) Schell. She was a graduate of Lakeview High School. Linda worked for many years as a cook, baker, and as the Manager of the Fredonia American Legion. She loved cooking and baking for her family and their many gatherings. She enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre. She enjoyed birdwatching and feeding birds, especially watching her “grand chickens”. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her sons and grandchildren. Linda is survived by her sons, Darren Hittle and companion Hulda Heister of Mercer, Douglas Hittle and wife Brenda of Greenville, and Daniel Hittle and companion Wendy Wentling of Stoneboro, grandchildren Christina Heister of Mercer, Trent Hittle and Lydia Hittle of Greenville, Carson Hittle of Franklin, and Noah Wright of Sandy Lake. Siblings George Schell, Jr., and wife Melody of Fredonia, Kathy Patterson of Fredonia, Thomas Schell of Stoneboro, Debra Beougher and husband Larry of Utica, and Vicki Schell and companion Jim Dixon of Transfer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by the father of her children, Gary “Buck” Hittle in 2014, husband Robert Marstellar in 1997, and husband Donald Cushing in 2014, granddaughter Courtney Hittle, brother Gary Schell, Sr., and sisters Carol Saylor and Donna Schell. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Homes, Stoneboro & Sandy Lake. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
