Linford P. Hays

February 4, 1861 — January 1, 1753

Critically injured when he was thrown to the ground by runaway horses, Lindford Hays, 79, of Richmond Township, succumbed at Meadville City Hospital early Thursday afternoon, a few minutes after his admission to the institution.

Mr. Hays had been a resident of Richmond Township, near Blooming Valley, for more than half a century.  He was married 60 years ago to Ella May Collins, who died three years ago.

Surviving are four children, Mrs. Flora Sethman and Mrs. Eva Plautz, both of Meadville and Mrs. Mina Bailey and Charles H. Hays, both of Youngstown, OH; nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
