Lloyd Dale Dewey

Lloyd Dale Dewey, 74, of 12634 McFadden Road, Guys Mills died Thursday, November 02, 2006 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh following a five year illness.

He was born in Blooming Valley, February 7, 1932 a son of Emmet and Mildred Shumaker Dewey.  He married Rose Marie Powell April 15, 1950 and she survives.

He worked at Talon for over 20 years first as a tool maker then as a foreman in the tool room.  In 1985 he was a partner in a group that started Diamond Tool and Die in Townville.  He then retired in 1997.

He was a graduate of Meadville High School and he enjoyed hunting, woodworking and the car he rebuilt.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Rose of 56 years, include: one son, David L. Dewey and his wife Penny of Townville; one daughter, Dorothy Anderson and her husband Bob of Cochranton; one brother, George Dewey and his wife Frieda of Jamestown, NY; four grandchildren, Sherry Bickford of Minnesota, Stephanie Dewey of Guys Mills, Annie Dewey of Townville and Brian Dewey and his wife Jen of Guys Mills and two great grandchildren, Tyler Scott and Garrett Dewey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Delores Harvey.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Cynthia K. Schneider, Pastor of Townville United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Blooming Valley Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 464 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
