Lois A. Rockwell

Lois A. Rockwell, 89, of Meadville died at home surrounded by her family July 6, 2020. She was born November 23, 1930 in Erie a daughter of Emil and Harriet Gallagher Gorenflo. She married Thomas H. Rockwell August 21, 1976 and he survives. She was a graduate of Academy High School in Erie and received her Bachelor and Masters degrees in Education from Edinboro University. She began her teaching career in Lawrence Park and then Union City schools before teaching 1st grade for 30 years in Crawford Central. She spent time in all the Crawford Central schools except West End, Neason Hill and Cochranton. She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women, sang in the choir and volunteered at the Lords Locker. She was also a member of Wesburys Sunset Auxiliary and volunteered for many years in the gift shop. She enjoyed dancing, especially the jitterbug and traveling out west. Survivors, in addition to her husband Tom of 43 years, include: a daughter, Cyndie Taylor Urquhart of Phoenix, AZ; a son, Kevin Taylor (Pam) of Kokomo, IN; four grandchildren, Johnathan Urquhart (Stacey Teuta) of Meadville, Elyssa Clark (Matt) of Durango, CO, Linsay Merle (Mike) of Chicago, IL and Sarah Taylor of Atlanta, GA; six great grandchildren, Camerynn, Abagael, Ian, Brady, Logan and Bria; a sister, Phyllis Kennedy of Erie and nieces and nephews. Calling hour will be Friday, July 10th from 1-2 p.m. at Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S. Main Street, Meadville. The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Rev. Sarah Roncolato, Pastor, officiating. All Covid-19 state and CDC guidelines will be followed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S.
