Lois A. Slater

Lois A. Slater, 93, of Fredonia passed away peacefully at Quality Life Services of Mercer on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

Lois was born on January 12, 1929 in Kennerdell to the late Harold J. and Mabel Y. Reed. She was a 1948 graduate of Sandy Lake High School.  Lois was a Homemaker, she loved that she was able to take care of her family.  She enjoyed going to yard sales, playing the lottery and bingo.

Lois married her beloved husband, Walter T. Slater on March 11, 1949, and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2011.

She is survived by her children, Catherine A. Trump, and husband, Dale, of Jackson Center, Susan L. Gills, of Hermitage, Sherry L. Hays of California and Louis VanDyke of Watertown, NY; her grandchildren, Sheila Sharp, and her husband, Michael, of Springboro, PA, Darlene Sager, of Erie, PA, Kurtis (Marian) Gills, of New Orleans, Greg Philson, of California and Kevin Gills of Hermitage, PA and 3 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by her sister and brothers.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., of Stoneboro and Sandy Lake.  As per her wishes the funeral arrangements will be private.

Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery.
