Lois H. Schiemer, 96 of Clarks Mills, passed away at home on January 31, 2020, surrounded by her family. Lois was born in Westview, Pittsburgh, on July 21, 1923 to the late Harry and Margaret (Grosick) Heid. She was a graduate of Perry High School and went on to graduate from Indiana State Teachers College. Lois was a teacher for 30 years working at many schools, most recently Commodore Perry, retiring in 1988. Lois married her beloved husband, Bernard J. Schiemer on June 27, 1947, he preceded her in death on February 11, 1997. Lois was a member of St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church in Stoneboro. She was a social person and always enjoyed meeting people at The Produce Place in Clarks Mills. She always enjoyed attending Primetimers at the Clarks Mills Methodist Church. Lois also enjoyed drinking a nice cup of coffee, no matter what time of day or night. Lois is survived by her children; James (Linda) Schiemer of Clarks Mills, Janice (Mike) Koettel, of Sparks, NV, John (Jill) Schiemer of Clarks Mills, and Joseph Schiemer of Clarks Mills, grandchildren; James, Mark, Michael, and Matthew, and six great-grandchildren, a sister Marge Gorman of Westview, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of Stoneboro, 99 Franklin Street, where family and friends are welcome from 2-4 & 6-8 on Tuesday, February 4. With a prayer vigil at 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 am on Wednesday, February 5, at St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church, 70 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, with Rev. Robert A. Manning, celebrating. Interment and committal service will take place at Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park, at 1 pm on Wednesday.
