Lois M. Surala

Lois M. Surala, 80, of Hartstown, died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at UPMC Horizon, Greenville.

She was born December 9, 1934 in Cleveland, OH a daughter of Joseph and Matilda Dukovich Maurer.  She married Donald Grafton, Sr. June 6, 1952 and subsequently married James F. Surala July 19, 1970 and he preceded her in death June 29, 2015.

She was a graduate of Euclid High School, Euclid, OH and a very active member of Hartstown Presbyterian Church.  She was a former member of the Conneaut Lake Samaritans.  She enjoyed sewing, reading and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by six children, Susan Rameas and her husband Dr. Samuel of Syracuse, NY, Amy Kantz of Hartstown, Gail Allen and her husband David of Hartstown, Donald Grafton and his wife Diane of Hartstown, Laura Fries and her husband Joseph of Hartstown and Sheryl Nichols and her husband Richard of Hartstown; a sister, Nancy Ramsdell and her husband Wayne of Cleveland, OH; a brother, James Maurer and his wife Jo of Medina, OH; fifteen grandchildren, Shannon Thurber, Lois Morris, Britta Grafton, Cass Grafton, Jeremy Allen, Melissa Allen, Kaylee Allen, Adam Nichols, Amber Nichols, Austin Nichols, Caitlin Rameas, Natalie Rameas, Lindsey Kantz and Megan Kantz; thirteen great grandchildren, Marissa Morris, Lane Morris, Connor Fries, Kyler Nichols, Calli Nichols Natalie Austin, Ava Nichols, Zachary Austin, Shane Thurber, Seth Thurber, Chipper Thurber, Scott Thurber and Bryce Desrochers and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Stewart.

Services will be private and held and the convenience of the family.

The family suggests memorials be made to Hartstown Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 77, Hartstown, PA 16131.
