Lorraine R. Leech, 78, of Meadville died Monday, October 1, 2007 at Golden Living
Center, Cambridge Springs.
She was born in Philipsburg, PA May 23, 1929, a daughter of late Joseph and Elva Motter Rothrock. She married Robert M. Leech October 14, 1950 and he preceded her in death February 29, 2004.
She was a devout member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years where she was also a member of the F.I.C. Sunday school class. She retired from the Meadville Public Library where she served for 20 years and previously worked for 5 years at the former Keystone View Company.
Her hobbies were oil painting, gardening, bowling, crocheting, and reading. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and loved to travel.
Survivors include 4 sons, Dean Leech and his wife Jody, Darrel Leech and his wife Cheryl, Kevin Leech and his wife Kim, and Michael Leech and his wife Lee Ann, all of Meadville; 9 grandchildren, Lindsy, Ashley, Garrett, Jason, Benjamin, Tasha, Dylan, Emily and Ryan; 3 sisters, Margaret Flick of Williamsport, Doris Jackson of Meadville, and Louise Cole of Clarence, NY; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Rothrock, and a grandson, Travis Leech.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where a funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Haemer, Pastor of Saegertown Community Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to the Meadville Public Library, 848 N. Main St., Meadville, PA 16335 or First Baptist Church, 353 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335.
