Louis Clare Heydrick

May 20, 1875 — January 1, 1753

Louis Clare Heydrick, 81, of Meadville, died late Tuesday at Spencer Hospital where he had been a patient for the past 10 days.

Born at Carlton, Mercer County, son of the late Charles W. and Mary TenBroeck Heydrick, he came to Meadville in the 1890s.

He attended Allegheny College and studied engineering there under the late Prof. Dutton.  His profession later carried him to various parts of the US and Canada.

Early in his career he was employed in planning the construction of the old Meadville Street Railway.  For many years, he was employed in the office of chief engineer of the New York Central Railroad, serving at Cleveland, OH and later at Chicago, IL until his retirement.

In pursuance of his hobby, photography, he was a member of Cleveland Photographic Club.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Meadville and the Allegheny Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. William H. Holman of Overlook Sanatorium in New Wilmington and Miss Mary T. Heydrick of Meadville; and a grand nephew, William F. Heydrick, Jr. of Minneapolis, Minn.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
