Louise E. Sturdevant

Louise E. Sturdevant, 87, of Meadville, a patient at Wesbury United Methodist Community for the past month, died Friday, January 6, 1989, at Wesbury following a brief illness.

Mrs. Sturdevant was born on Long Island, NY, September 24, 1901, a daughter of Louis and Louisa Jung Leimbach.  She married Carl A. Sturdevant May 27, 1932.  He preceded her in death May 10, 1987.

She had been employed as a legal secretary in New York.  She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church and the church's United Methodist Women, Worship Commission and flower committee.  She was a member of Meadville Garden Club, Philo-Mathesian Club; Meadville Women's Club; Antique Study Club; Meadville Planning and Zoning Commission and Meadville Beautification Committee.  She was a board member emeritus of Crawford County Historical Society.

Survivors include two nieces, Doris Leimbach, El Toro, CA and Muriel Clark of Port Ritchey, FL; and two nephews, Donald Leimbach of Saysville, NY and Robert Leimbach of Pomona, CA.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Elsie Hewels and two brothers, George Leimbach and Charles Leimbach.

Services were held with the Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
