Louise Ann (LouAnn) Roy Flick, 58, of Meadville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 13, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born June 23, 1956 in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County, a daughter of Nicholas and Clara Jane Detore Roy, Jr. She married Alan Robert Flick on July 7, 1984.
She was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School, obtained her undergraduate degree from Seton Hill College, and her master’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. During her successful 35 year career with Mead Johnson Nutrition as a territory sales manager, she “loved the babies” and established many long-lasting relationships with the many people she called on. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, and was a fabulous cook. Her favorite pastime was laughing and talking with family and friends.
She was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church where she served for several years as a youth group leader, working specifically with students preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Alan of 30 years of Meadville, include three children, Amanda Kochirka and her husband Andrew of Erie, Michael Flick of Pittsburgh and his fiancée Lauren Verno of Meadville, and Alex Flick of Meadville; her parents, Clara Jane and Nicholas Roy, Jr. of Pittsburgh; a sister, Desiree Roy of Pittsburgh; a brother, Nicholas Roy, III of Pittsburgh; three sisters-in-law, Vicki Flick of Pocono Pines, PA, Valerie Bloom and her husband Stephen of Emporia, VA, and Kathy Flick of Key West, FL; and three nieces, Stephanie Bloom of Raleigh, NC, Whitney Bloom of Emporia, VA, and Victoria Bloom of Emporia, VA.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mildred and Nicholas Roy, Sr.; her maternal grandparents, Flora and Dominic Detore; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Marian Flick.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a Scripture Prayer service at 6:15 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville with Fr. Mark A. O’Hern of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church as Celebrant.
