Louise G. Syllvester

Louise G. Sylvester, 84, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died there, Monday, April 7, 1997 following a period of declining health.

She was born August 20, 1912 in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Samuel P. and Margaret Nee Stetson Gotwals.  She married Herman Sylvester April 20, 1935.  He preceded her in death in 1970.

Mrs. Sylvestor attended Beaver College for two years and later worked as a cashier for 55 years first for John Wanamaker Co. and the Lord and Taylor Co., both in Philadelphia.  She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter, Margaret Saavedra of Meadville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Herman Sylvestor, Jr.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn.
