Lovelace May Moon

Lovelace May Moon, 90, of Meadville, where she had lived with her daughter since January 1973, formerly of Drums and Scranton, Luzerne County, died Saturday, April 12, 1980, at Spencer Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born in Carbondale, Lackawanna County, April 4, 1890, a daughter of Alfred and Millie Arthur Emmett.  She married Tylman R. Moon on May 24, 1911.  He died in 1973.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Drums and a 50-year member of the church's United Methodist Women's organization.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Minnie) Wilmarth of Meadville and Mrs. Lee (Esther) Reid of Hamlin; two sons, Ira E. Moon of Bradenton, FL and Edgar W. Moon of Lake Park, FL; a brother, Laverne Emmett of Binghamton, NY; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Waymart Cemetery, Wayne County.
