Lucille L. Byers, of 722 Albright Dr., Meadville and formerly of Pittsburgh, died Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.
She was born in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late William Moore and Florence Chisnell Lewis. She married Robert V. Byers September 21, 1940.
She was a 1934 graduate of Pittsburgh Peabody High School. She worked for 14 years as a secretary including 12 in the insurance business and 2 with the U.S. Navy. She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing the piano, music, and was an excellent cook.
Survivors, in addition to her husband of 64 years, include a sister, Jean Lewis of Meadville and several nieces and nephews including the Rev. William L. Brown and his wife Carolyn of Conneaut Lake. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Helen Brown, Edith West, and Florence Porter.
A chapel service is today at 2:00 p.m. at Allegheny Cemetery, Temple of Memories, Pittsburgh with the Rev. William L. Brown, nephew, officiating.
Entombment will be in Allegheny Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
