Lulua Jane Weaver, 57, of Truth or Consequences, NM, formerly of Meadville, died Wednesday, June 7, 1989, at her son's home in Girard following a six-month illness.
She was born in Meadville, September 16, 1931, a daughter of David L. and Ossee Jewel Shields.
She received her doctorate of metaphysics in 1982 from Universal Life Church, Inc. and specialized in finger pressure massage. She formerly had worked as a licensed practical nurse at Wesbury United Methodist Community, the former Conneautville Nursing Home and the Mercer County Home. She was a 1965 graduate of the Chicago School of Nursing and a 1977 graduate of the Crawford County Area Vocational Technical School's physical air therapist program. She was a life member of the US Medical Assn. She was a member of the Truth or Consequences Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Elaine Bryant of Kenasaw, GA; three sons, Clayton E. Weaver of Conneautville, Clinton E. Weaver of Girard and Clifton E. Weaver of Truth and Consequences; her step father, Frederick (Ted) Weaver of Slippery Rock; three sisters, Eva Grace Harvey of Guys Mills, Bernice Jean Shields of Warren and Norma Berdella Orians of Marion, OH; one brother, David C. Shield of Cochranton and eleven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one step-granddaughter.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Black Ash Cemetery.
