Lyle E. Jones

Lyle E. Jones, 82, a former Meadville resident, current resident of Jensen Beach, FL, died at the home of a son, Neil Jones of Saegertown, Saturday, January 12, 1991, after an illness of one year.

He was born in Corry May 18, 1908, a son of Clyde L. and May Ashurst Jones.  He married Evelyn G. Hobbs, June 20, 1936.  She survives.

He was a plumber at Talon for 22 years, retiring in 1973.  He had previously been in the contruction business.

He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer.  He was also a member of numerous social organizations and clubs.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. James (Kay) Nageotte of Saegertown; four sons, Neil A. Jones of Saegertown, Lyle E. Jones of Meadville, Lee E. Jones of Richmond, VT and Gary L. Jones of Conneaut Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Elvery (Shirley) Davis and Mrs. Wilbur (Laura Jane) Goldsmith, both of Linesville and Mrs. Paul (Peggy) Fry of Conneaut Lake; five brothers, Leon Jones of Meadville, Burt Jones of Hallandale, FL, Clyde Jones of Forsythe, GA, Richard Jones of Linesville and Jack Jones of Saegertown; sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Alise Stallsmith and Jessie Jones and two brothers, William and Nelson Jones.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
