Lynn Whitehill

May 26, 1887 — August 4, 1974

Lynn Whitehill, 86, of Conneaut Lake, died at his home Thursday, August 4, 1974.  He had been in failing health for several months.

He was born in West Mead Township, May 26, 1887, a son of James and Mary McGehee Whitehill.  He married Austa Smith on July 23, 1931.

Mr. Whitehill operated a dairy and ice cream store, Whitehill's, until 1945.  He also was active in sale of wholesale and retail dairy products and was associated with his brother, Frank, in natural gas production in Jefferson County for some time.  He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, Meadville Grange and Taylor Hose Co.

Survivors include his widow; a son, James of Royal Oak, MI; two granddaughters, Mrs. George (Ann) Nixon of Galveston, TX and Mrs. Don (Lynn) Brockman of Clarkston, MI; two great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

Four sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
