M. Jean Huson

M. Jean Huson, 81, formerly of Saegertown and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, passed away peacefully there Sunday, July 10, 2022.

She was born March 3, 1941 in Meadville, a daughter of George and Leona Murray Barnes.  She married Thomas A. Huson June 25, 1960 and he preceded her in death July 6, 2017.

Jean was a 1959 graduate of Saegertown High School.  She was owner and operator of Jean’s Beauty Shop for over 40 years.

Jean was a member of Saegertown United Methodist Church.  She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star and the Grottoettes and a Fountain House 4-H Club leader for 18 years.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, and crafting.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Huson, II (Sue) of Mebane, NC and Donald Huson (Dr. Christine) of Roanoke, VA; a daughter, Christina Kaspick (John) of Cambridge Springs; nine grandchildren, Chrystal, Joshua, Joscelyn, Donald (“Joe”), Haley, Michael, Paul, Mark, and Timothy; nine great-grandchildren, Madyson, Hailey, Oliver, Archibald, Calla, Olivia, Finnley, Joseph, and Lena Jean; a brother, George Barnes (Sue) of Cambridge Springs; a half-brother, Ken Smith of Cleveland, OH; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marsha Kahler; two step-brothers, Eric and Byron Smith; and a special nephew, Arnell Huson.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 12th from 4-6 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where a memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. Sam Marchetta officiating.
