M. Willard Grant

December 1, 1898 — March 17, 1961

M. Willard Grant, of Meadville, proprietor of Grant's Feed Store, died at Spencer Hospital Friday, March 17, 1961.  He entered the hospital Monday.

The well-known businessman was a graduate of Meadville High School and Allegheny College.  He was associated with the late Sam McQuiston in the feed business from 1914 to late 1935.  He opened his own store early in 1936.

He was a member of the Class of 1921 at Allegheny College and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

Grant had been active in Parent-Teacher Assn. work and was prominent in a PTA-sponsored safety campaign conducted here several years ago.  He also had been active in the YMCA and had been connected with a number of Y membership drives.  He was campaign chairman of the 1956 drive.

He headed the professional division of the Community Chest campaign in 1952.

Mr. Grant had been an active member of Stone Methodist Church.

He was married to the former Esther B. Grinder.  She had helped in carrying on his business since he became ill.

Surviving, besides his widow, are two sons, Richard, attending Edinboro State College, and Robert at home; a niece and a nephew.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
