Mabel Applegate, 85, worked in food service for much of her life. Applegate was formerly dining room manager at Hotel Conneaut, Conneaut Lake Park, for Interstate United Food Service. For 21 years, she was a waitress at Wallace's. She subsequently worked at Shafer's Steak House, and later Don David's, on Conneaut Lake Road. She was of Methodist faith. She was a member of the Linesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Audubon Society and the Yale Retreat Civic Club. Applegate, of Casselberry, FL formerly of Conneaut Lake, died Tuesday May 17, 1994, at Altamont Hospital, Altamont Springs, FL, after a brief illness. She was born in Black Ash, Randolph Township, February 27, 1909, a daughter of the late Earl E. and Grace Eleanor Rodgers Hunt. She married Harley M. Applegate December 7, 1928. He preceded her in death March 29, 1990. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Leon (Jeannette) Berezoski of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Mrs. Charles (Betty Lou) Damico, Jr. of Meadville and Mrs. Will (Carolyn) Collier of Casselberry, FL; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Burkholder and Ruth Garvavish, both of Meadville. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ward Applegate. Service were held at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Jones of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills. Services Past Services
