Mabel Elizabeth Prouty

Mabel Elizabeth Prouty, 96, of Wesbury United Methodist Community, formerly of Linesville, died Tuesday, August 20, 1991, at Grace Nursing Center, Wesbury Community, following an extended illness.

She was born at Butler April 26, 1895, a daughter of Addison and Mary McWilliams Brown.  She married Harry E. Prouty July 3, 1917.  He preceded her in death in 1978.

She was a homemaker and was a member of Linesville United Methodist Church where she was active Sunday school classes.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Stanley L. (Ruth) Ward of Ormond Beach, FL and a son, Earl I. Prouty of Linesville; a sister, Ethel M. Dennis; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, James W. Prouty.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Linesville Cemetery.
