Mabel I. Murray, 90, widow of Elmer R. Murray, a Meadville resident since 1948 and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community since 1966 died Tuesday, June 24, 1986, at Wesbury following an illness of two months.
Mrs. Murray was born in Rimersburg, March 2, 1896, a daughter of William and Ida Belle Zilafro Mortimer. She married Elmer R. Murray October 14, 1914. He preceded her in death May 9, 1978.
She was employed for a brief period at Talon, Inc. as a cafeteria worker at Plant 7. She then was employed for several years as a practical nurse at Hillside Home. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rodney (Phyllis) Turner of Jamestown and Mrs. Robert (Vae) Batchelor of Williamsville, NY; one son, Cecil E. Murray of Saegertown; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Priester and Mrs. Ellen Henry, both of Youngstown, OH; two brothers, Cledis Mortimer of Kan-Ka-Keek, MD and Bryce Mortimer of Youngstown, OH; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lois Jean Murray and Dorothy Irene Murray; two brothers, Dale and Dean Mortimer and two sisters, Joy Fowler and Ruth Foust.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Rimersburg Cemetery.
