Mabel M. Morris

Mrs. Mabel M. Morris, 83, wife of Harley J. Morris of Meadville, died at home Thursday, December 25, 1980, following an illness of two years.

She was born in East Mead Township, July 15, 1897, a daughter of Charles C. and Mary Lutz Slocum.  She married Morris in 1921.

She was a housewife and a member of Grace United Methodist Church.  She also was a member of Eastern Star, Golden Crown Chapter, Order of the Amaranth; Knights Templar Aux. of Meadville; Meadville Women's Club and City Hospital Ladies' Aux.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Marjorie) Newton of Long Island, NY, Mrs. Bernard (Doris M.) Swavey of Erie and Mrs. Ronald E. (Joan) Stallard of Meadville; a son, Richard C. Morris of Forestville, NY; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
