Madalyn 'Babe' Bidwell Varner

Madalyn “Babe” Bidwell Varner, 76, of 618 Walnut Street, Meadville, PA, died Saturday, July 21, 2001 at the Meadville Medical Center.

She was born November 19, 1924 in Hamilton, PA, a daughter of F.N. and Madalene Brown Bidwell.  She married C.R. Varner August 10, 1946 and he preceded her in death March 23, 1987.

She was a graduate of Punxsutawney, PA,  High School and she worked for 28 years as a waitress at the Freemont Hotel in Las Vegas, NV.

Survivors, include two daughters, Madalyn Davis of Meadville and Esther “Sue” Walch of Las Vegas, NV; a son, C.N. “Sam” Varner of Keaau, HI; three grandchildren, Jennifer Moore, Erin Moore and Richard Walch and a step grandson, Taj Riojas.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanne Lukehart and two brothers, Peter Bidwell and David Bidwell.

No services are planned.
