Madelyn R. Thummler, 79, of 290 Walnut St., Meadville died Saturday, October 25, 2003, at Meadville Medical Center.
She was born in Edinboro, August 29, 1924, a daughter of Dorus & Mae Rieck Baker. She married Lester Thummler August 20, 1946, and he preceded her in death December 27, 1977.
She was a 1940 graduate of Edinboro public schools and retired as an inspector for National Teltronics in 1992, after 28 year of service.
She had been affiliated with Stone United Methodist Church and she loved reading and quilting.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharyn Tams and her husband Joseph of Tampa, FL, and LuAnn Ellsperman and her husband Eric of Newburgh, IN; two sons, Brian Thummler and his wife Dawna of Meadville, and Jon Thummler of Oneida, NY; five grandchildren, Christopher Rhodaback, Spencer Ellsperman, Brenna, Ethan & Emily Thummler; one sisters, Doris Wishart and her husband Richard of Saegertown; a brother, Louis Baker and his wife Shirley of Las Vegas, NV, and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Greenawalt, Esther Frantz and Jean Marasco and a brother, Harold Baker.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m., at the funeral home with the Rev. William L. Brown, Associate Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Meadville Public Library, 848 North Main St., Meadville, PA 16335.
