Major Irene H. Faulds

Major Irene H. Faulds, 63, of Espyville, died Monday, June 4, 2001 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh following a short illness.

She was born May 26, 1938 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Thomas and Iva Harris Wood.  She married L. Garth Faulds December 2, 1961.

She was a graduate of Riverside High School, Buffalo and attended the Salvation Army School for Officers Training, Bronx, NY.  She was ordained a minister in the Salvation Army for 40 years, retiring in 1999.  She served many locations in the region.  She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Jeannette Chapter #69 and White Shrine of Jerusalem Westmoreland Shrine #18.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of 39 years, include four daughters, Malinda Klingensmith (Michael) of Meadville, Atha Faulds of Rochester, NY, Cynthia Lawrence (Christopher) of Newport News, VA and Wendy Senior (Richard) of Buffalo, NY; seven grandchildren, Tabatha, Taylor, Alyxandra, Jaccobb, Caleb, Sabrina and Jared; two sisters, Elizabeth Knapp of Bradford and Evangeline Groat of Buffalo, NY and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Samnatha Joy Allen; two sisters, Marietta Armbuster and Catherine Grisby and three brothers, Victor, Vernon and John Wood.

Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.

Interment was in Espyville Cemetery.
