Marcia Moffitt Shorts

Marcia Moffitt Shorts, 77, of Meadville, died Friday, April 20, 2001 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born October 1, 1923 in Franklin, a daughter of the late Robert Bruce and Dorothea Campbell Moffitt.  She married Ronald L. Shorts November 18, 1950 and he survives.

She was a 1941 graduate of Franklin High School and a graduate of Franklin Business College.  She worked as a secretary at Joy Manufacturing Company of Franklin for 9 years.  She subsequently did clerical work at the former Carpenter Electric of Meadville, was a secretary at Talon, Inc., and was also a homemaker.  She was an avid doll collector and loved to travel.

She was a member of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church and former member of its United Methodist Women.  She also attended Woodcock Presbyterian Church.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of 50 years, include one son, Jeffrey James Shorts of Saegertown; two brothers, William Moffitt (Marilyn) and Thomas Moffitt (Eleanor), all of Franklin; seven nieces and ten nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Allen and a brother, Robert Bruce Moffitt, Jr.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
