Margaret Calhoun

Mrs. Margaret Calhoun, 88, of Meadville, widow of Harvey Calhoun, died at City Hospital Friday, August 17, 1979, after an extended illness.

She was born in Saegertown, December 9, 1890, a daughter of Harry and Flora Gehr Flick.  Calhoun died in 1961.

Mrs. Calhoun worked as a cook at the former Saegertown Hotel in her early years and was a member of First Christian Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Cleo) Chadwell of Dunkirk, NY; a son, Alton E. Smith of Cleveland; two sisters, Mrs. Lula of St. John of Meadville and Mrs. Bessie Graham of Bobcaygeon of Ontario; and one grandchild.  She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Venango Cemetery.
