Margaret G. Axtel

Margaret G. Axtell, 91, formerly of Inverness, FL and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, since March 2002, died there, Wednesday, January 1, 2003.

She was born in Troy Center, October 3, 1911 a daughter of Guy and Ethel Harvey Hollabaugh.  She married Edward J. Axtell November 7, 1931, and he preceded her in death January 24, 1988.

She was a graduate of Oil City High School and worked for 10 years at the former American Viscose Co., of Meadville. She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, Meadville, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Erie Railroad.

Survivors, include two daughters, Jenny Lee Magoon and her husband Homer of Erie and Nancy Monnin and her husband Don of Meadville; six grandchildren, James Magoon, Richard Magoon, Karen Monnin Doolittle, Diane Monnin, Connie Monnin Webb and Norman Monnin; two great grandchildren and an Aunt, Neva Ames. She was preceded in death by a brother, Berton Hollabaugh.

Calling hours will be Friday from 1 – 3:30 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.  The funeral and committal service will follow at 3:30 at the funeral home with the Rev. Rodney Johnson, Pastor of Church of the Nazarene, officiating.

Following cremation burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Titusville.
