Margaret G. Brace

Margaret G. Brace, 92, formerly of Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, and a resideny of York, PA, for the past 3 years, died Tues., Jan. 20, 2004 at Resthaven Nursing Home, York after a brief illness.

She was born in Beaver Twp., Crawford Co., Dec. 22, 1911, a daughter of Marion & Ora Loucks Gillespie.  She married Robert A. Brace Sept. 9, 1945 and he preceded her in death Nov. 4, 1980.

She was a homemaker and avid crafter making hand made rugs, teddy bears, and hand knit sweaters.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and its Faith Circle, and had been an active volunteer at the Meadville YWCA as a member and past president of the Board of Directors.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Kathy Brace of York; 2 sons, Kent Brace and his wife Beth of Meadville and Kerry Brace and his wife Debby of Pittsburgh; 5 grandchildren, Margaret L. Brace, Michael K. Brace, Robert W. Brace, Patricia L. Brace, and Diane K. King; 6 great-grandchildren, Michael, Tasha, Aaron and Alec Brace and Mitchell and Zackery King; and 1 brother, Frank Gillespie of Meadville.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A funeral service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Fugate, Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
