Margaret L. Stanton

Margaret L. Stanton, 90, of Conneaut Lake, died at home surrounded by her family, Friday, June 5, 2015.

She was born November 6, 1924 in Grove City a daughter of Harry and Helen Humphrey Laderer.  She married Robert A. Stanton June 6, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1997.

She was a 1942 graduate of Meadville High School and attended Allegheny and Grove City Colleges.  She worked at Talon Inc., Westinghouse and First National Bank.

She enjoyed playing (but really winning) at cards, reading, crossword puzzles and the newspaper mind quizzes.  She taught swimming and lifesaving classes at the Meadville YMCA and was a board member of the Hillside Home.  However, most of all, she treasured family times, especially Sunday dinners at the family home at Conneaut Lake.

She is survived by four sons, Doug Stanton and his wife Christine of Meadville, Tom Stanton and his wife Jane of Meadville, Gary Stanton and his wife Julie of Conneaut Lake and Randy Stanton and his wife Linda of Meadville; nine grandchildren, Mandy Mahoney, Jarrod Stanton, Monica Stanton, Brian Stanton, Kelsey Monyok, Robby Stanton, Tyler Stanton, Tucker Stanton and Tanner Stanton; six great grandchildren, Aiden Mahoney, Addison Mahoney, Carson Mahoney, Luke Monyok, Logan Monyok and Lydia Monyok; a sister, Doris Young of Roseville, OR; a brother, Edward Laderer of Conneaut Lake; a sister-in-law, Jean Rand of Barefoot Bay, FL; many nieces and nephews and a special friend and caregiver, Christina Mattis.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Molly J. Stanton; a brother, Robert Laderer and a special friend and companion, Henry Webber.

A celebration of Peg’s life will be announced at a future date.
