Margaret O. (Sis) Porter

October 2, 1919 — July 16, 2000

Margaret O. (Sis) Porter, 80, of Conneaut Lake, died Sunday, July 16, 2000 at Rolling Fields in Conneautville.

She was born in North Braddock, October 2, 1919, a daughter of Roy and Margaret McEwen Stell.   She married James L. Porter, September 24, 1960, at Harmonsburg United Methodist Church. He survives.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She was a homemaker.

She graduated from Scott High in North Braddock.

She was a member of Cranberry Elks Lodge No. 2249, Conneaut Lake Park Fire Hall, and the Ladies Aux of Conneaut Lake Fire Department.

She enjoyed crocheting and crafts, music and dancing.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, James (Tip) Murphy (Donna) of Conneaut Lake; a daughter, Cathy Herr (Donald) of Conneaut Lake; five grandchildren, Michael Rhoades, Jennifer Laird, Daniel Bowes, Matthew Bowes and Leslie Jablonski; two step-grandchildren, Daniel Herr and David  Herr; nine great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roy Stell of North Braddock.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Reid and Robert Stell.

Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.

Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.
